Due to the amount of attention Pinterest has been receiving lately, since the company announced its intentions of going public. Many are wondering how can Pinterest benefit me?
Pinterest is a great platform to bring awareness to your brand, increase your sales, bring traffic to your site, and to research current trends just to name a few.
Setting up a Pinterest account
To setup a Pinterest account is free. There are two types of accounts that Pinterest offer; business and personal.
If you have a business and decide to set up a business account, you will get detailed analytics about your account.
As you can see, my business account provides me information on what my audience (followers) are interested in.
Initially, when you set up your account Pinterest will also ask you topics you’re interested in. These topics will be what is shown in your newsfeed. Don’t worry you can always search, new topics.
Pinterest will always show you content relevant to your interest.
Creating Boards for Your Pins
You will want to create a board. A board is basically a digital storage bin for your pins. When you post to Pinterest, you will decide which board (category) you want your pin to be placed.
This helps you to be able to go back and find your pins, as well as for other pinners (Pinterest Users) to be able to find the content you have pinned.
Creating Pins to Post on Pinterest
